The Quietest Recording yet

With a spectacular view down onto the entrance to the Firth of Forth and with the Isle of May on the horizon I take my final recording of the day. From my position on the road to Dowlaw I am finally far east enough to be clear of the busiest aircraft flight paths from Glasgow and Edinburgh and I record the quiet as the sun sets. The soundscape is almost entirely silent with only the last chirps of birdsong and the north sea swell crashing on the rocks down in the distance by the coast. I am incredibly excited to have found such an extraordinary, peaceful soundscape and take a sound level reading of just 31.8dB, similar in sound level to a quiet whisper from about 4ft away.
